Let’s not give way to the temptation of giving up on God just because he delays in answering our prayers. Sometimes delay is part of the tactics God uses to glorify His name. Remember when Jesus delayed his coming JN11-1-6 by two days when he got the news that Lazarus, whom he loved, was very sick. God had something greater in mind, which was more in keeping with His purposes, than having Jesus heal a sick man. God delayed the prayers of Mary and Martha and all those who were praying for Lazarus to be healed. The raising of a dead man required a delayed response on the part of Jesus to allow the sickness to proceed unto death.

Knowing that the Master physician was on His way to their house was no strain on Mary and Martha faith. The many testimonies of healing the sick was always fresh in their minds – but now the bad news - Jesus has delayed his coming. All of us at one time or another has received news contrary to what we have asked God for. We can choose either to consider it all joy and throw a party or go along with the news and agree that all is lost and that God was not really interested and didn’t care much either way if we got what we prayed for. If you have agreed with the latter then a mind renewal moment is required on your part.

1 JN 5:14-15And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS WILL, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him

JM 1: 2-8
My brethren, COUNT IT ALL JOY when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Regardless of DISAPPOINTMENTS we need to resist the temptation to cast away our confidence, for God will validate Himself and bring glory to Himself. Remove the DIS from your mind and the APPOINTMENT appears on time. Most of the time we are completely unaware of how close we are in reaching the finishing line, but God isn’t for He knows all about your prayer request and the need of patience being formed in our lives. Paul even named Him – the God of Patience ROM 15:5 ‘Now the GOD OF PATIENCE and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus’

Dis Pater, or Dispater was a Roman god of the underworld, later subsumed by Pluto or Hades. Originally a chthonic god of riches, fertile agricultural land, and underground mineral wealth, he was later commonly equated with the Roman deities Pluto and Orcus, becoming an underworld deity. Dis Pater was commonly shortened to simply Dis. This name has since become an alternative name for the underworld or a part of the underworld, such as the Dis of The Divine Comedy. Dis Pater was originally a god of wealth, much like the Roman god Pluto (from Greek Πλούτων, Ploutōn, meaning "wealthy"), who was later equated with Dis Pater. Dis is contracted from the Latin dis (from dives meaning "rich"), and pater ("father"), the literal meaning of Dis Pater being "Wealthy Father" or "Father of Riches. The Devil’s kitchen is cooking up schemes and it’s hellishly hot. In God’s kitchen it’s even hotter, fiery in fact, baking hot to produce something real GOOD. If you can’t stand the heat best get out of the kitchen but leave the Master Chef to finish the job.

PHIL 2:13for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for HIS GOOD PLEASURE.

LUKE 12:32
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father`s good pleasure to GIVE YOU THE KINGDOM.

It is extremely useful to remember that divine delay does not mean apathy. God, who is in us, is not inactive just because He seemingly doesn’t answer us. Take Him at His word, for He is busier than you might think, preparing the answer for you.

Many a wise person has been accused of erratically behaving like lazy dreamers who for lengthy periods seemed to be doing nothing at all. Then all of a sudden, their inspired ideas took off at a gallop taking people by surprise- an overnight success they cry, wow what a lucky so ‘n so. But be ensured there is no luck involved - only working within that begins to play out and pay off for the diligent.  Laying the ground work for future manifested blessings includes preparing a foundation for future success and that foundation we know is Jesus Christ and the Apostles doctrines.

"My Father worketh hitherto and I work." It is a mystifying word of the Lord Jesus Christ to those educated on worldly ways. Conceivably God, like most of the busiest people, is doing most when He seems to be doing nothing. Let’s get ready to be busy where He is busy working behind the veil.

Our constant reading of the scriptures and by much contemplation we eventually let the mind of Christ be in us. This mind, having fixed its attention on the truth of the Word, now sees only ‘One Power’ that is of God –the God of our Lord Jesus Christ. To the mind of Christ nothing matters only rests in the truth ‘Be still and know that I am God’. Without ‘being still’ how can we know God - a great deal of noise (figuring) and busyness (reasoning) on our part digs up the good seed that was sown in the good soil of our hearts. But left alone to die, the hard outer shell of the seed is weakened by the elements and after a while begins to sense the vitality and quickening of the Spirit’s power ‘for it is the spirit that quickens the flesh profits nothing’. Now that which was dead, buried and and forgotten rises up - the invisible (soul) becomes manifest in the earth (body) and God gets the glory and we KNOW HIM as the source of all things. We understand and owe much to the silent preparation of delay. All along the answer was being formed in those laborious times when we were tempted to say there was one to help or come to our aid and further more God does not care.

Anything worthwhile comes as the result of much patience and waiting. ‘My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, WANTING NOTHINGJMS 1:2-3

A man meets a sculptor chiselling away at a boulder. "What are you making?" says the man. "I’m making a horse" replies the sculptor. "What? That doesn't look anything like a horse!" Retorts the man. "It’s a process, my son" adds the sculptor, “One doesn't simply chisel a horse, one merely removes everything that is not a horse."

My God continue to bless all those who continue in the Word of His patience.
